Emergency Rescue Fund Emergency Rescue Funds are the funds required to free a horse from the slaughter pipeline. LERR endeavors to intercept equines before being relinquished by their owners to auction, but oftentimes these horse wind up at auction and dealers wind up with horses for a variety of reasons. Once an equine is under the control of the dealer, the only chance that horse has to escape brutal slaughter is when a rescue has the ability to pay the bail to free the horse. Until horse slaughter is banned in the US, the drive for horsemeat will cause an endless chain of horses needing rescue. This insidious industry profits on the barbaric slaughter of our American horses making it impossinle to save all equines from this cruelty. Sadly, for every horse that we rescue another horse is sent in it's place to fill the quota. LERR endeavors to rescue as many horses as possible, but before any emergency rescue funds are used to free a horse in need, LERR makes sure that funds and facilities are in place. LERR collects funds in advance so that we can make every effort to rescue slaughter bound equines before they are shipped to slaughter. You can help support our next emergency rescue operation. All donations add up; no donation is too small. Your generous support is needed in any amount! Thank you for caring.

Emergency Medical Fund The Emergency Medical Fund enables us react to emergency situations. Sometimes we get calls about horses that not only need rescue but also need immediate medical attention. Some veterinarians generously give their time but they are not always available to us and funds are needed to get the right kind of medical attention on an emergency basis. Please donate to this fund. Your donation will be used to provide emergency veterinary care to horses in need. Thank you. |
