Operation OTTB (Off Track Thoroughbreds)

Operation OTTB is our Thoroughbred rescue and sanctuary program for off track horses in need. We rescue and provide ongoing care and rehabilitation for Thoroughbreds previously involved in the racing industry.

Operation OTTB is also an educational program with a focus on the need to support humane treatment, retirement, rehabilitation, and retraining for Thoroughbreds. Visitors and participants learn a valuable form of social and emotional support in humane education through interacting with these majestic animals.

Your support is crucial to ensuring we can fulfill our mission. Horses are a living testament to the will of the American public; they deserve to be treated humanely. Your support is needed to help sponsor costs for feed and daily needs. Whether you give to the general rescue and sanctuary fund or sponsor the needs of an individual horse, when you donate to Wild for Life Foundation (WFLF), you make our successful campaigns possible!

Finesse

Finesse:

"My name is Finesse and I'm 4 years old."

Finesse had been dumped after not doing so well on the track. She's been getting some much needed R & R...enjoying life just being a horse. Since her rescue she's put on some weight and healed from a monor injury. Finesse recently returned from a 6 week training session with Monty Roberts and now serves as one of the horses in our Garden of Equine program.

Please help support Finesse with a thoughful donation. Funds are needed for her feed, bi-monthly worming, hoof trimming, vaccines and dental care.

Meet Carmel: Saving America's Horses' Hero for Horses Ambassador

Carmel is a Thoroughbred racehorse with a winning track record, but she, like 1000's of other Thoroughbreds in the U.S. was not provided protection, safety and welfare following the end of her career.

Carmel was sold at auction for slaughter, but just before being shipped she was rescued by WFLF's Lifetime Equine Rescue. Though she was underweight and traumatized from the ordeal, she has made a full recovery.

Thanks to the generous donations of supporters like you, WFLF's Lifetime Equine Refuge is providing Carmel the guarantee of lifetime care.

Lifetime Equine Refuge together with the Saving America's Horses initiative is proud to welcome Carmel as the new Ambassador of the Hero for Horses campaign which will help launch the landmark film, "Saving America's Horses - A Nation Betrayed" into the mainstream.
