Featured Rescue Thoroughbreds Despite the banning of horse slaughter in California in 1998, many CA Thoroughbreds along with other breeds, still wind up on meat hooks in Mexico and Canada. Regardless of the closing of the last three slaughter plants in the US in 2007, hundreds of thousands of horses and burros from all over the county have continued suffer the most barbaric cruelties as result of this insidious practice.
We rely on your generous support to provide for the ongoing needs of these well deserving horses. These horses are among the lucky few that have been saved from slaughter. The majority of the horses that enter the slaughter pipeline are never seen again. Please help us to make sure these horses are cared for and never forgotten. They are a living testament to the will of the American public; that horses are non-food animals and deserve to be treated humanely. No equine should ever have to suffer the fate of slaughter. Finesse:

"My name is Finesse and I'm 4 years old."

Finesse had been dumped after not doing so well on the track. She's getting some R & R...enjoying life just being a horse, putting on some needed weight and getting some rest for an old injury. After a period of lay up she'll be ready to get into a retraining program to learn some new skills. Finesse will make a future adoptor very proud.

Please help support Finesse with a generous donation. In addition to her feed and general care, she needs funds so that she can get into a training program.

Carmel:

"My name is Carmel and I'm very sweet. I'm a retired Thoroughbred and I'm 6 years old. I once ran the racetracks with crowds cheering for me and I've won some big money too... But when I could no longer race, I was discarded."

Carmel was rescued from a bad place and she is now getting some much needed R & R. She was rescued together with Brandy and they have become very close. Carmel is getting plenty of love and attention and enjoys several hours of turn out every day.

Basic funds are needed to support Carmel's feed and general care.

Giselle:

"My name is Giselle and I'm a three year old Thoroughbred that was recently recued from a place that no horse should have to ever go. Thankfully I was rescued together with my best friend "Carmel".

Giselle is young and full of life. After having some time off to just be a horse, she will be ready to start some retraining and rehab.

Please help support Giselle's feed, general care and future training.

"My name is Brandy and I am a 4 year old Thoroughbred. I am a love bug and I'm very well behaved.

MIA:

"My name is Mia and I am a 9 year old Thoroughbred. I was bread to race but never made it on the track so they took me to a bad place and then I got left behind. Luckily I was rescued just in the nick of time."
